Organised by PRIGODA – Regional Development Agency of PGC, EU Info Day was held on 14 November 2025 in InnovaLab, University of Rijeka. "A new vision for European cohesion and the development potential of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County". The event brought together representatives of the public sector, academia, the economy and development institutions, with the aim of discussing the future of regional policies, innovation and smart specialisation.

At the event we participated with two lectures given by the director of EDIH ADRIA project Damir Medved:
1. The role of the EDIH Adria consortium and the development of micro-services based on artificial intelligence
We presented key aspects of the work of the EDIH Adria consortium, which brings together leading scientific and technological institutions – the University of Rijeka, the University of Pula, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Infobip, Step Ri and Smart Ri/PORIN.
Special emphasis is placed on development AI microservice, enabling a fast, modular and measurable digital transformation of users. Practice examples are presented – from smart AI assistants and tender supervision to traffic optimisation solutions.
Key challenges that accompany the use of AI were also highlighted: database quality, digital literacy, ethical issues and organisational adaptation. The need for the continuous development of digital skills and the creation of safe and trustworthy AI systems was stressed.

2. Mobility in rural and island areas of PGC – trends and new transport models
In the second lecture, we presented the future of mobility in the context of fast-paced technological progress and global trends. Changes in the traffic connection of PGC and new models that will shape the following decades have been analyzed: electric vehicles, autonomous transport, digitalised public transport and micro-transport for rural and less densely populated areas.
The importance of digital twins, advanced methods of traffic modelling and optimisation of transport infrastructure. It was emphasized that PGC through data-driven approaches and AI technologies can achieve significant improvements in transport sustainability, accessibility and cost-effectiveness.

Participation in the EU Info Day once again confirmed the importance of linking technology, community development and regional policies. We look forward to continuing cooperation with partners and implementing innovative solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and beyond.
