Record turnout: Almost a thousand applications for education on the application of generative artificial intelligence in teaching and scientific work!

The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies (FIDIT), this week organized a set of online educations dedicated to the application of generative artificial intelligence in education and scientific work. The trainings are part of the activities of the EDIH Adria project, which brings together reputable partners such as the University of Rijeka, the University of Pula, Infobip, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, STEP RI and SMART RI.

The first training was held on Monday. how generative AI can improve the design of teaching materials and everyday teaching tasks;, while the other, on Wednesdays, focused on its application in the design of scientific papers and project applications. The response of the academic community was exceptional, with almost a thousand registered participants in every education from all over Croatia, including universities from Osijek, Zagreb, Split, Zadar and Rijeka. This impressive figure highlights the topicality and importance of the topic and emphasizes the need to continuously adapt the education system to new technologies.

Assistant Professor Danijela Jakšić, project coordinator for FIDIT UNIRI, expressed her satisfaction with the great interest and participation of the academic community: ‘We are proud that through the EDIH Adria project we provide opportunities for knowledge exchange and support digital transformation within the academic community and beyondShe especially thanked the lecturers, a full professor. Ana Meštrović and Assistant Professor Slobodan Beliga, on their expertise, as well as on all participants to actively contribute through discussions and questions.

These trainings have once again confirmed the great need for further workshops and discussions on the application of artificial intelligence in different domains, which is also one of the key goals of the EDIH Adria project. The EDIH Adria consortium actively supports the digital transformation of Adriatic Croatia through the development of new products and solutions for digitization, and the organization of education and training to strengthen the skills needed to succeed in the new digital age, creating opportunities for cooperation and access to innovation financing.
