EDIH Adria

The services of EDIH Adria are funded by the Digital Europe Programme and the 2021 National Recovery and Resilience Plan. – 2026 for a total amount of €2,645,000. The duration of the project is three years, with the possibility of extension for another four years.

Program Digital Europe (DIGITAL) is a new EU funding programme aimed at deploying digital technology for businesses, citizens and public administrations. Through the program that is planned €7.588 billion investment aims to accelerate the economic recovery and shape the digital transformation of Europe’s society and economy, for the benefit of all, and in particular small and medium-sized enterprises.

This is also how support is provided. strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and the green transition with a view to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 and moving towards – as far as possible – EU technological sovereignty. Digital Europe is part of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2030. 2021-2027, where the EU invests in strategic digital capacities and large-scale deployment of digital technologies.

The programme envisages investment in 5 interrelated specific objectives/areas:

The European Commission has initiated the creation of “European Digital Innovation Hubs” (EDIH) across the European Union, tasked with supporting Deployment of digital technologies business and the public sector.

EDIH Adria part is Networks of European Digital Innovation Hubs the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network Several hundred centres across Europe.

Four such centers have been established in Croatia, and EDIH Adria is in charge of the digital transformation of companies in the Adriatic Croatia, one of the three statistical areas of Croatia.

EDIH Adria is based on two key technologies for which there is a need in the Republic of Croatia, namely Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing.

In the EDIH Adria project, these technologies will focus on sectors Health and quality of life (including health tourism), Transport and mobility (with a special focus on the maritime sector) and Energy and Sustainable Development, i.e. strengthening the sectors that are crucial for a faster transition of Adriatic Croatia towards the digital economy.

And while it's 50 % grants for co-financing EDIH activities provided by the European Commission under the programme Digital Europe 2021 2027-2027, the other 50% grants for the co-financing of EDIH project activities were provided by the Ministry of Economy from 2021 National Recovery and Resilience Plan 20-2026 (NPOO) by the end of 2025.

Overall objective EDIH Adria supports the digital transformation of Adriatic Croatia by supporting the development of new products and services, organizing trainings and educations, creating opportunities for cooperation and mediation, but also gaining access to innovation financing.

what is

de minimis?

Low-value aid; the total amount of which may not exceed €200,000 per undertaking, or €100,000 in the case of an undertaking engaged in road transport for hire or reward, in any period within three fiscal years.

In doing so, all de minimis aid shall be taken into account (aggregated) irrespective of the instrument, purpose and level of the de minimis granting authority.
