EDIH Adria on RSA 2025: Artificial intelligence and micro-services as a cornerstone of the digital transformation

the International Conference RSA 2025, under the programme dedicated to digital innovation and sustainable transition, the project EDIH Adria presented his approach to accelerating the digital transformation through AI-based microservices.
Presentation under the title “Boosting Digital Transformation with AI-based Microservices” held Damir Medved, Project Director EDIH Adria, which presented concrete results, examples of application and direction of further development of this European co-financed project.

EDIH Adria, which brings together leading Croatian academic and technological institutions: University of Rijeka, University of Pula, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Infobip, Step Ri i Smart Ri – positioned as Key Digital Innovation Hub for South East Europe.
Project through access “Test Before Invest” allows organizations to try out advanced AI tools before investing in their implementation, which significantly reduces risk and increases the efficiency of digital transformations.

The focus of the presentation was Conceptual and practical application of microservices – modular, interconnected components enabling the rapid integration of AI into business processes, public administration and the energy sector.
Examples include projects developed in cooperation with cities and municipalities across Croatia – from AI chatbots for citizens, systems for optimising transport and energy consumption, to Solutions for digital energy communities and self-sustaining municipalities.

One of the highlights of the presentation was the model. Self-sustainable communities and communities, which connects local transport, renewable energy sources and digital services into a single, self-sustaining system.
Such projects, as pointed out, represent the future of European energy and transport planning – connected, effective and tailored to the real needs of the community.

The presentation was concluded with the message that advanced microservices are not only a technological, but also a social solution – allowing smaller communities, cities and businesses to also have access to cutting-edge AI tools and innovations that deliver measurable results.

RSA 2025 reaffirmed that the Croatian innovation ecosystem, supported by EDIH Adrie, is actively shaping Europe’s digital future.
