EDIH Adria presented in Stavanger: Artificial intelligence and micro-services at the service of sustainable digital transformation

At the conference ADR Forum 2025, held in Stavangeru (Norway), project EDIH Adria presented as part of an international session “EDIH Session 2”, together with the centres CeADAR (Ireland) i Nemonoor (Norway).
In a dynamic and technically oriented debate, representatives of the three European Digital Innovation Hubs presented different approaches to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies in support of the economy and public institutions.

Damir Medved, Project Director EDIH Adria, made a presentation under the title “Boosting Digital Transformation with AI-based Microservices”, in which he pointed out how Micro-services and component approach present a key methodology for the rapid and effective deployment of AI across different sectors.

EDIH Adria, whose consortium brings together University of Rijeka, University of Pula, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Infobip, Step Ri i Smart Ri, is positioned as Regional leader in the deployment of AI solutions for smart cities, public administration and energy transition.
Project through its program “Test Before Invest” enables organizations to test technologies before investing, significantly reducing the risk of digital transformation and ensuring faster implementation of innovations.

During the presentation, they were presented Concrete examples of the use of AI microservices in Croatian cities and municipalities — from chatbots for citizens and tourist boards, through systems for optimising transport and energy consumption, to Solutions for smart and self-sustaining communities

In the ensuing debate, the panellists agreed that the development of digital competences and the ethical application of artificial intelligence; Just as important as technology itself.
As Medved pointed out, "The biggest challenges of digital transformation are not technical but organisational - from a culture of change to skills development and trust in data"..

By participating in Stavanger, EDIH Adria has further strengthened the international cooperation network between European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), Confirming their role in connecting regions and creating interoperable, sustainable solutions for the public and private sectors.
