PLS-SEM in higher education and IT industry: How to make better data-driven decisions

At a time when more and more decisions – in science, education and the IT sector – must be based on reliable data, the ability to design and test theoretical models is becoming a key skill. PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling) is an advanced but affordable statistical method that enables a deeper understanding of the relationship between variables, even in complex and underexplored systems. Whether you work in academia or industry, mastering this method brings you a new level in making informed, strategic decisions.

Content of the training:

The workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling), a structural equation modeling method that enables the development and testing of theoretical models in the context of higher education and the IT industry. Participants will learn how to construct and evaluate conceptual models based on latent and manifest variables and how to interpret results for making informed decisions.

Through a combination of theoretical review and practical exercises, the key elements of the PLS-SEM model will be processed: conceptualization of latent structures (reflective and formative), evaluation of reliability and validity of measuring instruments, interpretation of external and internal model results, and estimation of predictive power of the model using PLSpredict algorithm. Special emphasis will be placed on the correct specification of the model and avoiding common mistakes that can lead to wrong conclusions in research or business analysis.

The workshop is intended for teachers, researchers and experts from the IT sector who want to improve analytical skills and make decisions based on reliable and validated data.

what is

de minimis?

Low-value aid; the total amount of which may not exceed €200,000 per undertaking, or €100,000 in the case of an undertaking engaged in road transport for hire or reward, in any period within three fiscal years.

In doing so, all de minimis aid shall be taken into account (aggregated) irrespective of the instrument, purpose and level of the de minimis granting authority.
